We Are In His Hands In Anger And In Peace

if we come to sleep,
we are His drowsy ones.

and if we come to wake,
we are in His hands.

if we come to weeping,
we are His cloud full of raindrops.

and if we come to laughing,
we are His lightning in that moment.

if we come to anger and battle,
it is the reflection of His wrath.

and if we come to peace and pardon,
it is the reflection of His love.

who are we in this complicated world?

poem of Mevlana Rumi (from Mathnawi 1 , 1510 - 1513):
Get original translation here.

I saw a movie last night on my PC while my friend went off to sleep. The movie is called The Kite Runner. It's the 2007 Academy Award-nominated film directed by Marc Forster based on the novel by Khaled Hosseini. I remembered a friend said she had read this novel before, based on the movie I assume that the novel would be good too.

The poem above was cited in the movie by Amir (main character) to his dad while they were escaping as refugees. This poem really touches my heart, just thought I would share with everyone.

The kite runner T______T Sadly I left the book at home. I miss reading that book!

Last week I saw the novel (one and only left!) at nearest bookstore. This few days I am considering to buy it, bcoz i love the story very much that i can read it over and over again. eventho i already have one at home, i just cant resist :P or mayb i shud just be a lil bit patient till i get home february nxt year.

I really want to watch the movie too. Can you please keep it for me? ehe. thank you so much :P

Anyways, there is another book wrote by Khaled Hosseini ; Thousand Splendids Sun. I am telling ya, this is a must read book :P A very touching and heartbreaking story yet you will love it.

I really hated amir when he was a kid, how he just watched hassan got kicked and sodomized by those bullies and how hassan adored amir so much but because of jealousy amir did everything so that his dad would hate hassan. that was the saddest part for me :)

neway, go watch the movie, it's a bit slow but still it was a good movie. i might find the book and give a go reading it, who knows i mite like the book too :D

p/s: don't waste ur money la, just wait until February, then get ur book at home, k? :)

i know. i hated amir too, for doing so towards hassan. and i love hassan so much because of his kindness, sincerity and loyalty. the saddest part for me is during the death of hassan :'( not to forget, hassan's child. he is very innocent and his life before meeting amir is so heartbreaking. but i am so glad that amir finally realised his mistake and take care of the child :)

yeah, you should hav a go reading the book. definitely, much better than movie :) dont forget thousand splendid suns too :P i cried reading both books.

i think so. i shud wait till feb. plus, i have no time to read it since i need to focus on medical books. hmmm.

amir 'insaf' after he knew that hassan was his brother. then all his questions had been answered because all these while he thought that his dad love hassan more than him, if only he knew that hassan was his brother, he would understand better why did his dad love hassan the way he did.

then came along sohrab, hassan's son, he felt that he should repent all his sins towards hassan and would take responsible for sohrab, thats why he went to pray in the masjid. because he never was a good muslim as hassan was, he even drink alcohol when he became an adult.

anyway, in the movie, they didn't show alot of sohrab miseries in life, but the viewers would understand by just watching his character..:)

hm..i guess u already know all that rite, since u read the novel..hehe~

ok, i'll try find this 2 books, i want to cry too..ehe~
